Powder Puff Girl !

This week Britlee took part in the powder puff game at her school. (Girl touch football) It was a game between the senior girls and the junior girls. They had practice leading up to the big day. Last Wednesday was the game. Conrad and I made our way to the stands at half time to cheer on his sister B. (Although he can say Britlee, we are trying to keep with his nickname for her, she gets sad when he calls her BeeLee and insists on being called B.)

It was a chilly evening, so we snuggled up to watch her play defense. She was asked by her coach if she wanted to play both offense and defense but she said she didn't want to have people running after her if she had the ball. We cheer and cheered, although I am not sure Conrad knew which one was her out on the field. The score was 12-0 when we arrived in her junior teams favor. We got to see her make a few plays and it was a lot of fun.

There was 8 minutes left in the game, Brit was on the sideline but we still were cheering for her, when all of the sudden, one of the senior girls ran up to one of the junior girls and started punching her. It was crazy, I was wondering what the heck I was seeing. They had a few grown ups and other girls on the field, pulling the two fighters off each other, and they called the game.

Although it was a sad ending, it was fun to see her as part of a team. She really enjoyed herself and we had a blast watching her play.

I guess those girls just took the game very seriously, but hopefully next year (when Brit is a senior) they will be better sports.
