The Zoo !

I have been taking little C and Zach to the zoo each month for the past two months now. On the second Tuesday of each month, the zoo only charges $2.00 to get in and kids under 3 are free ! So Hip Hooray for cheap entertainment.

Also with such a cheap cover charge its nice because we don't feel like we have to see everything at the zoo in one day and can just hang around in the morning, eat a sack lunch and make it home in plenty of time of naps.

It has been so much fun to see the boys looking at the animals. The first tuesday we went was very overcast, but we didn't let that stop us, and it was perfect. We practically had the whole place to ourselves. We got pretty close to some of the animals. The Leopard in one of the bottom photos, was pacing back and forth between 2 windows, we let the boys out of their strollers and they would run back and forth from each window to watch him walk by. We also saw a polar bear up close, playing with a ball and of course the Elephants were one of the biggest hits. They have a petting zoo, full of goats the kids can go play with, but Conrad wanted none of that. His cousin Zach however made a few goat friends that day.

The second time we went, the weather was a little nicer, we arrived bright and early to a full zoo ! We had to share our special spot with 100's of kids on field trips, but it was still a blast. We went another direction and were excited to see all the monkeys ! (We had missed them last time) Most of the animals were out, but most of them were sleeping. I think their favorite thing the second trip were the fake dinosaurs the zoo has set up for an upcoming exhibit this summer.
